National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK)

The National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK) is a public-private partnership (PPP) and multi-stakeholder organization that coordinates and strengthens the potato value chain in Kenya. Established in August 2010 and incorporated under the Companies Act (Cap 486), NPCK brings together all actors in the potato sector, including farmers, researchers, public institutions, extension providers, seed producers, traders, processors, regulatory agencies, financial service providers, and development partners. Its office is located at KALRO Kabete Campus, off Waiyaki Way.

NPCK’s mandate is to develop the potato subsector into a robust, competitive, and self-regulating industry, enhancing productivity, profitability, and livelihoods. The Council’s vision is for the potato industry to be a leading contributor to food security, increased incomes, and improved welfare in Kenya, while its mission focuses on coordinating stakeholders to drive the profitability and sustainable growth of the potato sector.

Through its Business Charter and multi-stakeholder engagement, the National Potato Council of Kenya provides services, facilitates partnerships, and supports the growth and efficiency of all players in the potato industry.
