Tim Hobbs

Tim Hobbs is a leading horticultural entrepreneur and farm owner with over three decades of experience in Kenya’s agricultural sector. He is the Owner of Tambuzi Ltd., a renowned rose-growing enterprise based in Nanyuki, which he founded in 1996. Under his leadership, Tambuzi has built a strong reputation for producing high-quality garden roses for export markets, while maintaining a focus on sustainability, soil health, and responsible farm management.

Tim previously served as Managing Director of Tambuzi for 15 years, guiding the company’s expansion and strengthening its position in international flower markets. His expertise spans agronomy, soil fertility, irrigation systems, crop protection, and export strategy. Through hands-on leadership, he has promoted sustainable agricultural practices and continuous innovation in floriculture.

In addition to Tambuzi, Tim serves as Executive Director of Highland Castle Farms in Nanyuki. He is also a Director of Parfum Flower Company in the Netherlands, strengthening market links between Kenyan growers and European buyers. Furthermore, he is a shareholder in Mawingu Networks, supporting rural connectivity and digital access in Kenya.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Reading, graduating with a 2:1. His academic background complements his practical expertise in farming, agribusiness development, and rural enterprise growth.

Throughout his career, Tim has remained committed to sustainable agriculture, rural development, and value chain integration. His work continues to position Kenya as a leading producer of premium garden roses while supporting community development and environmental stewardship.
