Edward Njiru

Edward Njiru is a repeat founder, data strategist, and agribusiness innovator focused on building practical African solutions for African farmers. As Co-Founder and CEO of Sowphie, he leads the development of a mobile-first farm management platform that helps farmers track profits, control costs, and improve margins. Through this work, he combines product design, data science, and on-farm experience to simplify financial management for commercial farmers across multiple regions.

Edward’s journey into agricultural technology builds on hands-on farming leadership. As Co-Founder, Data and Strategy Lead at Tetu Farm Limited, a circular economy dairy enterprise in Kiambu County, he championed data-driven farm management and operational mechanization. In addition, he trained fellow dairy farmers on financial reporting, genetics, animal nutrition, and performance tracking. This practical exposure shaped his conviction that profitable farming depends on accurate records and smart analysis.

Earlier, Edward founded Zed Axis Architects, where he delivered architectural design and construction advisory services for nearly a decade. However, his passion for solving systemic problems led him deeper into technology and artificial intelligence. He later contributed to climate data analysis and AI-driven crop models at Omdena, strengthening his expertise in predictive analytics and agricultural modeling.

Edward holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology He later specialised in dairy production at Pennsylvania State University and trained in Data Science at ExploreAI Academy, strengthening the technical foundation behind his work in data-driven agribusiness innovation.
