Alexandra Bell
Alexandra Bell is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ecoscapes Kenya Limited, an integrated organic farming, landscape, and land-use enterprise based in Naivasha. She brings more than three decades of professional experience spanning horticulture, landscape architecture, and sustainable land development in East Africa.
Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Horticulture from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom and a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in the United States. Early in her career, she worked as a landscape architect with Pickering Firm Inc. in Atlanta before relocating to Kenya. In 1996, she founded Ecoscapes as a full-service landscape architectural practice, delivering commercial and private projects across Kenya and the wider region.
Since 2016, her focus has shifted toward organic agriculture and sustainable community development. Under her leadership, Ecoscapes has evolved from an export-oriented fine bean farm into a certified organic operation producing over 100 varieties of herbs, spices, fruits, and vegetables for local markets in Naivasha and Nairobi. The business also operates a thriving nursery specializing in drought-tolerant plant species.
Ecoscapes Kenya manages a diverse portfolio that includes the Ecoscapes Market Garden, Garden Centre, Landscape Architecture practice, and Ecoscapes Sanctuary, a 150-acre mixed-use development integrating organic farming, conservation, and residential living. Alexandra personally designed the Sanctuary master plan and continues to lead its phased development.
Through Ecoscapes, Alexandra Bell champions sustainable farming, climate-resilient landscapes, and responsible land use. Her work demonstrates how agriculture, conservation, and design can be integrated into viable, locally grounded enterprises.
