Vegpro Kenya
Vegpro Kenya Ltd is a leading agribusiness at the forefront of growing, packing, and exporting a wide range of vegetables, soft fruits, and flowers from Kenya to the UK and European markets. Established in 1979 by KC Patel and later joined by Bharat Patel, the company has grown into a world-class, vertically integrated agribusiness known for quality, innovation, and sustainability.
Vegpro’s core strength lies in its large-scale farming operations, spanning 2,500 hectares across six vegetable farms in Kenya. Approximately 80% of its raw materials are grown on Vegpro farms, while smallholder schemes contribute to the supply of Asian vegetables and pea crops, ensuring consistent quality, safety, and supply. The company produces over 1 million retail packs weekly, totalling more than 200 tonnes of vegetables across diverse pack formats. Its cropping range exceeds 30 different crops, including stir-fries, prepared mixes, and soft fruits such as raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries.
Vegpro is also a major player in floriculture, operating seven rose farms in Kenya and three in Ethiopia, producing over nine million stems per week. The group’s floriculture division includes rose breeding and top grafting for the East African industry.
Supporting its operations is Freightwings Ltd, Vegpro’s freight forwarding subsidiary, handling approximately 550 tonnes of produce weekly and operating a state-of-the-art airfreight facility at JKIA.
With over 4,000 employees in Kenya and 2,500 in Ethiopia, Vegpro combines large-scale production, innovation, and responsible farming to deliver superior quality products while supporting communities.
