Thika Technical Training Institute
Thika Technical Training Institute (Thika TTI) is a government Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution under the Ministry of Education, State Department for Technical, Vocational Education, and Training. Established to provide quality training in technical, industrial, vocational, and entrepreneurial disciplines, Thika TTI is guided by the Education Act Cap 211 and other relevant Acts, including KNEC, TSC, KIE, and KASNEB.
The institute offers a wide range of programs through its diverse departments, including Agriculture & Environmental Studies, Applied Science, Building & Civil Engineering, Business Studies, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Health Sciences, Information Communication Technology, Liberal Studies, Mechanical Engineering, and Open Distance & Flexible Learning. Programs focus on practical, hands-on training to prepare students for the workforce, industry, and entrepreneurship.
The Agriculture & Environmental Studies Department equips students with skills in general agriculture, agribusiness management, entrepreneurial agriculture, environmental science, and horticultural production. The department emphasizes industrial attachments, experiential learning, and applied projects, ensuring graduates gain practical knowledge relevant to the agricultural sector. Programs are offered from Level 4 to Level 6, including specialized courses in agripreneurship, agricultural extension, environmental science, and horticultural production.
