Olivado EPZ Limited
Olivado was founded in 2000 in Kerikeri, New Zealand, and has grown into the world’s largest producer of extra virgin avocado oil. Pioneering the cold-pressed extraction method, Olivado produces oils known for their purity, health benefits, and rich flavor. The company combines innovation, quality, and ethical practices, setting global standards in the culinary oils market.
In Kenya, Olivado operates in the Central Highlands, partnering with nearly 2,000 smallholder farmers, predominantly women, to cultivate organic avocados. These partnerships create over 500 direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs. Farmers receive premium prices, fair trade support, advanced training in organic farming, and consistent income, which strengthens local communities, supports education, and fosters sustainable development.
Sustainability is central to Olivado’s operations. The Murang’a biogas plant converts factory waste into energy for production and vehicles while producing fertilizer, ensuring fully sustainable operations. Olivado holds organic and Fair for Life certifications and aims to become carbon positive by 2028.
The company produces a diverse range of oils, including extra virgin avocado, macadamia, and coconut oils. All products use mechanical extraction with minimal heat to preserve nutrients, antioxidants, and natural flavor.
By prioritizing quality, environmental stewardship, and community impact, Olivado empowers farmers, improves livelihoods, and offers consumers sustainable, nutrient-rich oils. Its integrated approach to farming, production, and social responsibility positions Olivado as a leader in regenerative agriculture and premium culinary oils worldwide.
