Maasai Mara University
Maasai Mara University (MMU) is a public university located approximately 150 km southwest of Nairobi en route to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Narok County, Kenya. The university was established to provide quality university education through innovative teaching, research, and consultancy services, focusing on academic excellence and community development. MMU operates six schools, including the School of Natural Resources, Environmental Studies, and Agriculture (SNRESA), which offers market-driven undergraduate and postgraduate programs in agriculture, environmental studies, forestry, wildlife management, and animal health and production.
MMU emphasizes practical, hands-on learning supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, research centers, and field-based training. Faculty members are engaged in applied research addressing climate change, soil conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable agricultural practices.
