Kusev Farm

Kusev Farm is a Kenyan poultry enterprise founded in 2003 in Kajiado County. The farm focuses on heritage turkey farming and promotes a different approach to poultry production in Kenya. It started with one key question: why do most households keep chickens but very few keep turkeys?

To answer this, the founder began raising turkeys and studying their behavior. He tested better brooding, feeding, and housing methods. As a result, poult survival rates improved. The farm grew from three birds to more than 300 heritage turkeys. Today, Kusev Farm supplies fresh turkey meat, seasonal eggs, vaccinated poults, and composted turkey manure. It serves farmers, households, and niche markets that value quality poultry products.

The farm also promotes environmental care. It turns unfertilized eggs into decorative products under the Petero label. It uses feathers and eggshells to make jewelry and ornaments. In addition, the team converts waste paper into egg trays sized for turkey eggs. They cut old tyres into planting pots and process turkey droppings into organic manure. These actions reduce waste and support a clean farm environment.

Kusev Farm also offers five-day training programs for aspiring turkey farmers. Schools and farming groups visit the farm for practical learning. Through innovation, recycling, and hands-on training, Kusev Farm continues to promote sustainable heritage turkey farming in Kenya.
