Kenya Livestock Producers Association (KLPA)
The Kenya Livestock Producers Association (KLPA) was founded in 2004 to unite livestock farmers across Kenya. With over 1.5 million members from individual farmers, cooperatives, self-help groups, community organizations, and agribusinesses, KLPA empowers producers to improve livelihoods, strengthen livestock value chains, and expand market access.
KLPA actively drives advocacy and policy reform. It represents farmers in national platforms such as KEPSA, KAM, and the Agriculture Council of Kenya, ensuring that their voices influence sector decisions. Moreover, the association guides regulatory reforms that support sustainable livestock production.
The association provides practical support through training, extension services, and digital tools. Through DigiFarm, KLPA connects farmers to inputs, credit, advisory services, and markets. In partnership with Land O’Lakes K-SALES and KCB Foundation, KLPA helps farmers boost productivity, develop agribusiness skills, and expand trade opportunities. Additionally, county agribusiness trade fairs enable farmers to interact with suppliers, policymakers, and peers, fostering knowledge sharing and increasing market access.
By combining local expertise, sector experience, and strategic partnerships, KLPA strengthens farmer-to-fork systems. Consequently, its programs empower livestock producers, increase productivity, and contribute to national food security. Through continuous training, market facilitation, and advocacy, KLPA ensures that farmers remain connected, informed, and equipped to grow their enterprises effectively and sustainably.
