Kentegra Biotechnology

Kentegra Biotechnology is a U.S.-Kenya agritech company specializing in the cultivation and processing of pyrethrum, a natural insecticide derived from flowers. The company converts high-quality pyrethrum flowers into Pale Refined Extract (PRE), containing pyrethrins I and II, jasmolines I and II, and cinerines I and II, used in agricultural, home, garden, and pharmaceutical applications. The organic by-product, Pyrethrum Marc, serves as a soil conditioner, animal feed, and mosquito repellent.

Kentegra partners with over 20,000 smallholder farmers across 12 counties in Kenya, including Nakuru, Nyandarua, Laikipia, and Meru. Farmers receive access to superior planting materials, regenerative farming practices, agronomy support, and digital payments, improving yields and incomes. Women represent 46% of the farming network, and 95% of participants report improved livelihoods.

The company operates a state-of-the-art processing facility that complies with international standards, including approval from the European Chemicals Agency. Products are distributed to six continents, ensuring consistent quality and safety.

Kentegra integrates smallholder farmers into global supply chains while promoting sustainable agriculture. Its operations focus on maximizing the value of pyrethrum flowers, supporting socio-economic development, and advancing environmental stewardship. Through regenerative farming, quality processing, and traceable supply chains, the company strengthens livelihoods, delivers high-quality insecticides, and contributes to a safer and healthier environment.
