Established in 1999 following a restructuring of the German chemical and pharmaceutical company Hoechst AG, HighChem operates across East Africa, providing solutions in hygiene, environmental sciences, consumer and hospital disposables, crop science, animal health, and pharmaceuticals.

The company combines manufacturing and distribution capabilities, producing some of its products under its own brands while also serving as a contract manufacturer for global partners. HighChem’s facilities occupy over 60,000 sq/ft in Nairobi’s Industrial Area, incorporating a GMP-certified factory, laboratory with modern analytical equipment, effluent treatment plant, solar energy generation, water production infrastructure, and staff support services including a canteen.
