Fertilizer Association of Kenya (FA-K)

Established in 2009, the Fertilizer Association of Kenya (FA-K) is the umbrella body representing manufacturers, importers, formulators, blenders, and distributors of both inorganic and organic fertilizers in Kenya.

As a non-profit business member organization (BMO), FA-K advocates for the interests of the fertilizer and soil health sector while promoting professionalism, ethical standards, and best practices across the industry. Its mission is to provide crop and soil nutrition solutions that enhance sustainable agricultural production, and its vision is to be the trusted authority in sustainable crop production for a productive and food-secure nation.

FA-K serves as the voice of operators along the entire fertilizer value chain, facilitating partnerships among agricultural advisory services, private sector players, and public institutions. Through its programs, farmers and stakeholders gain access to vital information on soil health, crop nutrition, and good agricultural practices, contributing directly to enhanced agricultural productivity, food security, and nutrition outcomes.

The association’s core mandate covers stewardship, compliance, and self-regulation, including the promotion of innovation, research, and development of sustainable soil and crop nutrition solutions.

FA-K also advocates for policy development, national and regional regulation, and the progressive implementation of the soil health policy, while driving capacity building, communications, and sector visibility to strengthen sustainable practices and resilience across public, private, and research sectors.
