Farmshine

Farmshine is a global agriculture platform transforming smallholder farming in Kenya and East Africa. The platform connects farmers, buyers, and service providers. It enables fair trade and better access to markets. Over 8 million farmers in Kenya and 40 million in East Africa struggle to earn fair prices. Therefore, Farmshine aggregates crops and links farmers directly to buyers. This approach eliminates middlemen and increases profits.

Farmshine supports farmers throughout the growing season. Technical field agents provide advice on crop management and access to seeds, inputs, loans, and crop insurance. Additionally, pooled purchasing reduces costs. Traceability improves transparency and builds trust with buyers. Farmers also gain information to access higher-value markets, including organic and premium crops. As a result, incomes rise and productivity improves.

The platform encourages climate-smart agriculture. Farmers adopt practices that protect land and water resources while increasing yields. Moreover, Farmshine invests part of its profits in rural communities. These initiatives address financial and social constraints faced by marginalized populations earning $2–5 per day.

By combining technology, market-based solutions, and social responsibility, Farmshine empowers smallholder farmers. The platform strengthens value chains, improves food security, and supports rural economic growth. Therefore, Farmshine drives inclusive growth, sustainability, and prosperity across Kenya and East Africa.
