About
Black Tulip Group (BTG) is an international floriculture company with operations in flower production, export, wholesale, retail, logistics, and floral design. Founded in 1990, the family-owned group operates across eight countries. Kenya serves as one of its key production hubs for supplying premium fresh-cut flowers to international markets.
The Group owns seven flower farms in Kenya: Laurel Investments, Black Petals Ltd, Golden Tulip Farm, Sunfloritech Ltd, Utee Estate Ltd, Eco Rose Ltd, and Batian Farms. Together, these farms produce premium roses, spray roses, carnations, and other fresh-cut flowers under Kenya’s favourable growing conditions. In addition, the Group’s Business Support division partners with more than 25 independent flower farms to source a broader range of varieties.
Black Tulip Group has also developed an integrated supply chain that supports efficient exports. Through Garden Freight, its Kenya-based freight forwarding company, the Group provides specialized logistics services for the floriculture industry. The facility handles more than 350 tonnes of air cargo each month and operates dedicated cold-storage facilities to preserve flower quality during export.
Furthermore, the company invests in modern greenhouse technology, advanced production systems, and efficient logistics to strengthen its floriculture operations. Its business combines flower breeding, production, sourcing, marketing, and distribution within a single value chain. As a result, the Group maintains a reliable supply of premium flowers for customers in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, India, and other international markets.
Through continued investment, strategic partnerships, and integrated operations, Black Tulip Group continues to strengthen Kenya’s position as one of the world’s leading exporters of premium fresh-cut flowers.
