Baraka Agriculture College

Baraka Agriculture College, located in Molo, Nakuru County, Kenya, was established in 1974 by the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru and is managed by the Franciscan Brothers. The College was founded to equip newly settled communities in the Rift Valley with practical agricultural skills and has since evolved into a recognized Centre of Excellence in promoting Sustainable Agriculture for Rural Development (SARD) in Eastern Africa.

Registered with TVETA, Baraka Agriculture College offers a comprehensive range of programmes, including Level 6 Diploma courses in Sustainable Agriculture for Rural Development, Agripreneurship, Agriculture and Extension, and Animal Production. The College also provides Level 5 Certificate courses and tailored short courses, enabling learners from KCPE to KCSE levels to access practical, hands-on training. Its curriculum emphasizes applied learning, climate-smart agriculture, and agribusiness management, preparing students to meet the demands of modern agricultural systems.

Outreach and partnerships form a core part of the College’s mandate. Collaborations with organizations such as Misean Cara, Gorta, SHA, USAID, and Miserior facilitate community projects, capacity-building, and knowledge transfer, supporting smallholder farmers and rural development initiatives.

Through its integration of education, research, and extension, Baraka Agriculture College equips graduates with technical expertise, entrepreneurial skills, and practical experience to drive sustainable agricultural development. The institution remains committed to innovation, community empowerment, and preparing agripreneurs capable of enhancing food security, promoting rural livelihoods, and advancing the agricultural sector across Kenya and the wider region.
