agriBORA

agriBORA is a leading East African agri-fintech platform transforming grain trade through technology, finance, and climate-smart solutions. Founded in 2018, agriBORA empowers smallholder farmers, cooperatives, traders, large-scale producers, and institutional buyers by providing certified storage, warehouse-receipt financing, market linkages, and climate intelligence. The company’s integrated system, branded as agriGHALA, reduces post-harvest losses, enhances market access, and ensures fair pricing across East Africa’s grain value chain.

agriBORA operates licensed, climate-smart warehouses approved under the Warehouse Receipt System (WRSC) and county authorities. Depositors can store cereals safely, access instant liquidity through electronic warehouse receipts (eWRS), and connect with verified buyers. By professionalizing grain storage and trade, the platform improves transparency, traceability, and price discovery, protecting farmers from distress sales while ensuring institutional buyers access consistent, high-quality grain.

The company serves over 1,600 depositors, including 48% women and 23% youth, and connects 23 institutional buyers. Through its digital marketplace, agriBORA allows farmers and traders to sell at optimal prices based on real-time market and climate signals. Its services also include working capital access, group transport for cooperatives, and large-scale finance for commercial producers, strengthening East Africa’s cereal supply chains.

Guided by its vision to build a climate-resilient, transparent, and profitable grain trade, agriBORA combines technology, finance, and sustainable practices to enhance food security, reduce post-harvest losses, and empower agribusinesses across Kenya and the region.
